With low ceilings and a log fire, this cozy cottage has been perched on the corner of Sheep St since the 1500s. Owners James Gummer and Phil Wisner (of The Pelican in Notting Hill) returned to their countryside roots to run this neighborhood pub where they both had their first pints.

From the rib of beef to the excellent selection of vegetables, the menu constantly changes as the cooks work with farmers to use the freshest ingredients. For a candlelit countryside evening or summertime garden roast, definitely dine at The Bull in Charlbury.
